  • Test smoke and CO alarms regularly.
  • Alarms don’t last forever, remember to replace your smoke and CO alarms at least every 10 years.
  • Unattented cooking is the leading cause of fires in the kitchen. Be alert while cooking.
  • Plan and practice an escape route with your family.
  • If your smoke or carbon monoxide detector sounds, leave the home immediately
    for fresh air and call 911.
